News on December 2, according to the “Macau Commercial Daily” report, the e-cigarette ban passed by the Macau Special Administrative Region of China in August 2022 will take effect on December 5. The new law prohibits all activities related to the production, sale, distribution, import and export of electronic cigarettes.
Private entities that violate the law, which criminalizes users and carriers of e-cigarettes, could face fines ranging from 20,000 patacas ($2,505) to 200,000 patacas, according to the health department.
The ban is aimed at preventing teens from vaping.
