The new law prohibits all activities related to the production, sale, distribution, import and export of electronic cigarettes.
Private entities that violate the law, which criminalizes users and carriers of e-cigarettes, could face fines ranging from 20,000 patacas ($2,505) to 200,000 patacas, according to the health department.
The ban is aimed at preventing teens from vaping.
